How to send a thank-you without asking for an address
The person who helped you may be someone you know through work, school, or a brief encounter. A gift invitation lets you send your thanks using an appropriate email or mobile number, without asking for delivery details.

Start with a way to reach the person
Use an email address or mobile number where the recipient can appropriately receive your invitation. You do not need a delivery address to start.
If you do not have a direct contact route, check participating organizations. Thoughtsent does not identify any person from their name or the place you met them.
For a physical gift, let them choose the address
An invitation-based gift gives the recipient a choice. They decide whether to accept and then enter delivery details if those are needed. They choose an address that works for them.
In Thoughtsent, the sender-facing flow does not display the recipient’s delivery address. Availability and delivery timing depend on the selected item and destination.
Make the invitation easy to recognize
Include your name when that would help the recipient understand why they are hearing from you. If you leave it off, remember that an unexpected anonymous invitation may be harder to trust.
Use a contact they recognize and include your name so they know who the gift is from.
Check the practical details before paying
Review the item, total price, and delivery information available at checkout. A gift invitation is not the same as a confirmed shipment, and the recipient may still need to accept it.
For a colleague or someone providing a professional service, check the applicable gift policy. If you are unsure, ask the organization about its preferred way to receive thanks.
Before you send
- Use a contact method the person expects.
- Choose a gift or card and add your personal thanks.
- Review price and delivery details.
- Let the recipient choose whether to accept.
Choose the gift for the person; write the card about what they did. The recipient provides an address if they accept a physical delivery.
